CAMRA Chelmsford & Mid Essex Pub of the Year 2010
Following recognition as "Most Improved Pub" in 2008, The Woolpack won the " Local Pub of the Year" for 2010. We are very proud to have recieved this award which was the result of a CAMRA membership vote.
National Cask Ale Pub of the Year 2009
The Morning Advertiser, the national pub trade's favourite paper, has voted The Woolpack National Cask Ale Pub of the Year 2009!
Maggie and Dave received the award at the official presentation night held at the Park Lane Hilton .
Cask Marque Approved
Cask Marque is an independant body that checks cask ales on sale for their general quality in temperature, appearance, aroma and taste. Pubs that apply to the scheme are visited twice a year and if they pass are given Cask Marque Acredditation.

We're In It!
We are proud to be included in the Good Beer Guide 2010. The Woolpack first appeared in the 2007 guide following the decision to make The Woolpack a real ale pub back in 2005. The guide is an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to know about real ale, breweries and beer types.

The Woolpack Beer Festival 2nd &ndash 4th September
It's beer festival time again! This September Beer fest starts on Thursday the 2nd and goes through to Saturday the 4th and features over 30 real ales, perries and ciders. We have sent our ordrs out to a number of breweries and suppliers and have a finished list within the next couple of weeks. What we can say is that, as usual, we will have a mixture of old favourites and new beers to add variety.

About The Woolpack Chelmsford
The Woolpack is a traditional pub situated just outside Chelmsford town centre close to Parkway. We offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere as well as offering Real Ales to suit most tastes. We usually have eight Real Ales available. We have regular Quiz and Music Nights – Visit our What's On page for a list of up and coming events. We have a pool table and dart board in our games room and a huge range of board games to choose from.
The Woolpack has a wonderful courtyard garden that is a real sun trap and can be a buzzing meeting place on summer evenings. For when it gets a little chilly or wet we have an awning on the patio and chimneas are usually lit on colder evenings to accomodate smokers.
Our Beer
We offer 8 real ales including 3 regular ales, two seasonals and 3 guests. There are also Guinness, 4 lagers and a cider on draught as well as bottled lagers, ciders and ales to sample along with spirits and wines too.
